Well like I said Thanks. I'd like to see more of this. Since the "web" has become our Civic participation then why not use it to connect together even if it is through a wire. Its not as enjoying as a evening discussion pros and cons face to face but it will have to do. Again Thanks for the effort, and I hope our community can return the favor someday...Peace

Let Freedom Ring
I know we can't control the weather, but to just simply give up on displaying the fireworks and showing off how proud we are of our freedom is pretty pathetic in my view. I am glad my fellow soldiers have never given up that easy to show how they feel about our freedom. ....but hey, I guess Timber days is pretty close in importance to celebrating all the hard work that made us and keeps us free.... Good call city officials, can always count on you.

I would like to thank all (on here) that helped find this person(s.) It takes a brave good heart(not to mention revenge) to work together to say "Not in my back yard!" My children thank you my friends thank you Those "trailers" (That I give this websites addy to )Thank you. I told Mr. Opfer this site could find the Dumpers. SO whats next, do you think this site could team up and stop other things in this Area? How about the people that stole the brass flag holders from the Veterans Graves in the Area? Someone has to know something and all you have to do is Call crime stoppers. We've lost so much here, at least we don't have to lost our pride ,replaced with fear..

Any further updates on this mess along the bike trail? Surely with the information that they found including addresses they should be able to track the person(s) down who did this. Probably not the first time that they did. That is one good lesson to learn - people going to have work done on their homes, the cheapest bid is not the best bid. Too many fly-by-night so called contractors living and coming to our area. You better check them out.

more info please
Ok I am going out and about here again in a few minutes. I think I have an idea of the truck because there is a truck parked in the area of one of those addresses that you listed and it is loaded with remodeling materials to dump. I will post info on here later if you would like to pass it along to the proper people. If I had to place a bet on it I would say that this is most likely the guy you are looking for. Truck has been in area you said of.

I'm sorry I did not see the dumping, I just wittnessed the mess after wards. It happened between Saturday & Sunday. Like I stated the mass amount was from repairs to homes or just one house on the list of addresses I gave...Thank You.

Could you please tell me, was this a white beat up truck that you saw dumping? Rusty body in spots? I think I saw that truck just a short while ago. Please respond and I will let you know if it is the same truck. Older looking possibly 80's early 90's with writing on door. Thanks.

I would like to ask for the help of the Connellsville Residents. Today as me and my grandson where walking on the bike trail we came across a man cleaning up a dump spot on the bike trail located in the parking lot of the Dawson entrance to the trail. What it looked like was a low rate construction job dumping its debris instead of paying the 50 dollars per ton legal dump fee.
Well I’d first like to thank the derelict that dumped their waste on our trail; it must make you feel good thinking you can just do as you please! Well get paranoid and know now you will face a very large fine. Along with the man cleaning it up was an officer for the game and fish commission. The Man dug up many papers from the mess that had names address and a lot of person information in them. What we would like from the residents of the community is this. “To help find the dumpers. “The debris was removed from the outside of a building along with plumbing and plaster walls. The outside debris was a set of wooden steps (four)with a platform and block wall (3 by 5 approx) the out debris was also roofing shingles ,Maybe 5 bundles. The inside debris was toilets, electric base board books, old children’s toys and tools. The address on the paper products are 245 E Fairview -502b N Pittsburgh street & Boyd ave 136 (west Crawford area) If anyone seen workers at these addresses as of Friday June 2008 or seen an older truck (80-90’s) filled with this debris please call Scott D. Opfer S. W. Waterways Conservation Officer (814)-445-8974. If we don’t stop this soon it will be in your back yard………. Now the residents have to find a way to clean up and pay for this mess!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to thank you for everything all of you have done. I can not be as brave as you and put my name on here. But I think you and everyone else on the lawsuit saved our children. Being a mother of 4 I can not thank all of you enough. I have and will attend every school board meeting possible. I've known this board to slide motions in when attendance is low. So everyone still needs to be on their toes. Yes, we have won the battle but the war is not over. Also remember if you are not registered to vote PlEASE register and vote. Thank you again and God bless you all.

Hello to all of you. This is the first time I have posted so please bare with me. I will begin by stating I am one of those cry baby, lawsuit fanatic, spoiled brat loosers. Just so there is no question about who I really am, I have listed myself under my real name and my maiden name was Sepkovic. So for all of you who would like to bring attention to my past, please feel free to do so as there is much to choose from. Having said that, what is the most important commoditiy we have today? Answer --Our children!!!!! Let's put all this into perspective without backbiting and nitpicking. Are we still in highschool? Those of us who choose to be a part of the law suit against specific school board members, did so as a last resort. We spent months trying to get the Board to talk to us, give us answers, seek council from teachers, but at every turn we faced nothing but arrogance. What recourse did we really have? I am a mother of a 22yr old and a 7yr old, and I am a grandmother. I tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to our future (our children), so any and all efforts made were on their behalf. They have enough to contend with, Drugs, alcohol abuse, pregnancy, bullying, and just common peer pressure alone can be overwhelming. Are we trying to see just how resilient we can make them? At what point do we decide we've gone too far and say our children are no longer adaptable? We do not have the ability as a society to rewind and edit what we have done to our children, so lets learn from our past and create a better future for them. Is that really so bad? I commend all those on the school board who have given their time voluntarilly and without serving their personal agendas. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that does not include all nine currently serving. I know first hand that lies have been told from these elected officials. People who are to serve the best interest of their constituency, not themselves. I will admit I am not an advid blogger by any means and only by the continued nudging of friends did I finally come to this message board. So here I am putting it all out there. Again feel free to bash my past, as I have nothing to hide. I do not consider stating truth as abuse. The past is what made me who I am today and I am very proud of that. I will protect my child's best interest at any cost, because I think it's worth it -- Don't you?????? Be pro-active, attend school board meetings, see for yourself, and never rely on others what you should be responsible for yourself. I have and will never be again. "Pride goeth before a fall", as stated in the bible, let's not be pridefull and arrogant in our knowledge, but use it for meaningful and educated decisions. Have a blessed day!!! PS The school board effects all taxpayers whether you have children or not -- so first and foremost you should be pro-active as a taxpayer and then increasingly so as a parent.

Glad to to have been of help. It should protect your garden somewhat even next year as the rosemary's fragrance will remain in the soil, leaving it an undesirable place for a cat to scratch around. Of course now you'll notice more ground moles and rabbits -- unfortunately rosemary doesn't keep them at bay.

Thanks, Mike, for the suggestion earlier in the spring about planting rosemary around my vegetables and flowers to keep the neighbors many cats out. It really helped! Thanks again!

I just wanted to take this oppertunity to ask the idiot who drove past the location where the fund raiser was on Saturday with his middle finger up at those holding signs - so i ask, perhaps you'd like to show me that same finger, because I will definatley shove it where your sun dosenst shine. My 6 year old daughter was one of those people standing along that road, and was subjected to your gesture. She said, "Daddy, some man held up his pinky finger at us" - and I just told her, he was saying that they all were #1 standing there working so hard!! So, once again, if u'd like to get together, and tell me your thoughts and show me ur gesture, i'd be happy to accommodate you. Trust me, that type of behavior over the actions of our elected officials is something that will be coming into light in the very near future Remember folks, get registered to vote!

doesnt hurt as much as you are making out . maybe you dont realize your name address and social security number . the easiest way for id theft is leaving your mail in the box too long . thieves break in your house and steal nothing but keys ro a checkbook . you know the ones you have in a box that you havent used yet or put in your purse . that is how mine was stolen . posting your real name on here wont do anything to cause worry . email thats a joke i get spam galore and onc picked up a trojan or virus that used my pc to send out other junk emails . i was contacted by my cable company to fix it or i would lose service becasue i was now a spam producing station . of course i edited registry and found some scripts to get rid of it . names emails nahhhhhh
